Design + Performance™
Design matters. Without great design, the spaces in our homes lack meaning and inspiration. The perfect combination of color, texture and pattern not only adds beauty, but has the power to invigorate and rejuvenate. Living with great design and creating a beautiful custom interior are what Sunbrella® fabrics are all about. Fabulous collections with unparalleled performance that are both stunning enough for a formal piece of furniture and durable enough for the sofa you sink into at the end of the day.
Seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces
The Upholstery Fabrics collection is inspired by the founding values of the Sunbrella brand: design and performance. It takes an entire team to inspire, design and produce textiles that complement any space and last for years.
This collection of 226 individual styles comes in a rich array of colors, patterns and textures. From beautiful basics to sophisticated jacquards, each fabric was developed to reflect a unique identity. Bring your design vision to life.
Sunbrella Upholstery fabrics are as versatile indoors as out. The textiles are woven exclusively with solution-dyed acrylic fibers to guarantee UV color-fastness, and finished with a protective anti-stain coating. Attractive, easy to wash, and durable, our collection pushes the boundaries of design.

A Commitment to Sustainability
Decades before today’s green movement, Sunbrella® fabrics made a corporate commitment to environmentally responsible practices. Today, our dedication to sustainability is just as strong, backed by initiatives with our vendors, trade partners and customers that allow us to put our values into practice around the world.
Company Environment Initiatives
|Zero Landfill||No Sunbrella manufacturing facility in the world sends waste to landfills. A result of our focus on efficiency, this monumental achievement allows Sunbrella to lead by example, putting sustainability into practice every day across the globe.|
|Solar Energy||In 2011, Sunbrella added a solar power system to our plant in Norlina, NC in an effort to lower emissions. Today, this single solar power system generates enough energy to power 47 homes and, combined with an upgrade of all light fixtures, has reduced the plant’s annual CO2 emissions by 1,000 tons (907.185 metric tons).|
|Wastewater Reduction||Our unique colouring process not only makes Sunbrella fabrics fade-resistant, it also conserves more water than conventional dyeing processes.|
|Wildlife Conservation||At Sunbrella we believe it’s important to preserve the environment around our facilities. We work to conserve the plant and animal life that is native to the area and encourage our employees to plant gardens designed to provide fresh food and nourish local wildlife.|
Sustainable Product Initiatives and Certifications
|Create Less Waste||Because Sunbrella fabrics last longer and need to be replaced less often than traditional fabrics, they ultimately create less waste than fabrics that mildew, fade or lose strength quickly.|
|Renaissance Fabrics||One of our best-selling collections, Sunbrella Renaissance furniture fabrics give new life to industrial waste by combining up to 50% post-industrial recycled Sunbrella fibre with virgin Sunbrella fibre to achieve vintage charm, rich colouration, soft feel along with excellent performance.|
|GREENGUARD® Gold Certified||Sunbrella upholstery fabric has achieved GREENGUARD Gold Certification for contributing to healthy indoor air as a product with low chemical and particle emissions.|
|OEKO-TEX® Certified||Awarded with the OEKO-TEX label (class II – products with direct contact to the skin), Sunbrella fabrics are made without any identified harmful substance that could be a danger to health, skin and the environment.|
|Skin Cancer Foundation Seal of Approval||The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends Sunbrella awning and marine and upholstery fabrics in shading products as an aid in the prevention of sun-induced damage to the skin as part of a complete sun protection regimen, in addition to regular use of sunscreen.|
|FACTS Certified||Glen Raven Custom Fabrics offers Sunbrella Contract fabrics that are certified to the NSF/ANSI 336 Sustainability Assessment. More than 50 patterns in the Sunbrella Contract fabric line, including those fabrics with Defiance® treatment, achieved a Silver Level in the NSF/ANSI 336-2011 third-party audit performed by UL-Environment, making it the first company to offer such a broad range of compliant fabrics.|
|ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Certified||Our ISO 9001 Quality Management and ISO 14001 Environmental Management certifications demonstrate our commitment to providing exceptional products and services while recognising our environmental responsibilities.|
Recycle My Sunbrella
|Mijn Sunbrella recyclen -programma||
For more than 25 years, Sunbrella has recycled acrylic manufacturing waste and delivered it to partners who convert the materials into industrial products such as felt, automotive insulation and filtration.
In 2010, for the United States we started our Recycle My Sunbrella program that allows consumers to participate in the recycling process. This is a special ‘take-back’ program that provides an alternative to disposal for fabric scraps, awning covers, boat covers and upholstery fabric. Since the launch of the program, business partners and homeowners have recycled more than 181,437 kilograms of fabric. Rather than going to a landfill, this fabric is recycled to be used again as yarns for use in decorative Sunbrella fabrics.
As part of this program we proudly partner with the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department to provide valuable jobs to the local community. Their employees receive and unpack the shipments from contributors, and sort the materials and packaging for further processing.
To participate in the Recycle My Sunbrella program, please remove any zips, metal garments, plastic, etc. that may be attached to your Sunbrella fabric and send the material to us using the shipping form at the link below.
